
Description:
Rider will be asked to transition between the 3 trots (sitting, working, extended)
Options:
- Between obstacles or in a figure 8 pattern to change diagonal
How is it Judged?
- Clear differences in each trot should be shown
- Riders should not “over post” at the working trot. Rider should be in balance and rhythm with the horse
- Rider should be light in the saddle and not heavy on the horse’s back
- When circling the rider should be posting on the outside diagonal
- On a weaving pattern rider should change diagonals each change of direction
- Gaited horses must gait properly for the breed and show differences in speed of the gait.
- Gaited riders may position themselves slightly back towards the cantle
- At the working trot; English riders should post, western riders may post or 2-point
