Objective: The County Parks Trail Master Challenge aims to promote responsible trail riding, environmental stewardship, and community engagement among equestrians. By traversing through the picturesque landscapes of Monroe and Genesee County’s Parks and committing to trail conservation, participants will not only deepen their connection with nature but also contribute to preserving it for future generations of trail riders.
Qualifications: Participants must fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for the challenge:

- Certification: Completion of Leave No Trace – Stock Use Certification prior to embarking on the challenge.
- Trail Riding: Visit at least 5 of the following parks and complete 5 miles at each: Black Creek, Genesee County Park & Forest, Mendon Ponds, Northampton, Oatka Creek, and Webster.
- Volunteer Work: Contribute to cleanup or trail clearing activities at at least 1 Pick Up The Parks event hosted by Monroe County
- Pay It Forward: Introduce a new rider to the trails at one of the five parks and educate them on the Leave No Trace principles of trail stewardship.

Time Frame:
Participants are granted the liberty to complete the challenge at their own leisure, allowing for a customized and enriching trail experience.

- Participants are required to report their progress using the online form
- Dates and mileage must be documented via GPS Apps, preferably through the EquiLab App.

Awards and Recognition:
Upon successful completion of the challenge, participants will be honored with the prestigious title of County Parks Trail Master. To commemorate their achievement and commitment to trail stewardship, awardees will receive a Rochester Trail Riders Patch and a special County Parks Master badge patch to adorn with it, a certificate of completion and their name listed below.
Profit Allocation for Trail Improvements:
The Rochester Trail Riders are dedicated to giving back to the community and contributing to the preservation of our beautiful trails. Any profit generated from the challenge will be accumulated until it reaches a benchmark of $100. Once this goal is attained, the funds will be generously donated to the Monroe County Parks Department. These contributions will be earmarked specifically for enhancements and improvements to horse-friendly trails within the county, ensuring a better riding experience for all and fostering a lasting impact on our cherished natural landscapes.
